In 1986, the first press-hardened body part was produced on the production line at the Luleå factory, and since then we have been a leader in safety and innovation. The product that leaves our production can ultimately help save lives.
Research and development
The research and development center in Luleå is one of the Gestamp Group’s largest. When we create, develop and test our products and production processes, we focus on tomorrow’s needs and future challenges.
Production
The drive for lighter and stronger sheet metal parts in the automotive industry has made press hardening an increasingly important technology. At our production facility in Luleå, we have been manufacturing press hardened body components since the mid-1980s and our goal is to be a world leader in quality and production reliability.
